Eating Healthy ~ Superfoods to Beat Heart Disease starts by explaining heart disease, the risk factors, exactly what happens when you have heart disease and the importance to be aware of the risk factors and symptoms.
The second part of the book tells of the benefits of specific foods. It gives the benefits with percentages to help show what to expect from eating these foods and exactly how they work in the body to reduce the risk of heart disease.
The third part is about changing lifestyles and how important regular exercise, not smoking and eating healthy is for a healthy heart. The writing is clear, to the point and easy to understand and follow to become healthier.

I enjoyed learning why these foods are healthy and how it will heal the body. I have more healthy foods to add to my list now.
Great read for everyone wanting to make healthy and natural food choices.
Great little guide to use and learn that the best choices make for a long, and healthier life. Dr. Clements easy, layman's style is uncomplicated and engaging. Without preaching, he demystifies food and simply states the benefits of certain foods over others. This would make a great "stocking stuffer" for those closest to you heart to help them keep theirs healthy!
Dr. Clements book is an easy to read step-by-step guide to eating the right foods to protect your heart. He explains what heart disease is and the possible causes for is and then gives us ways to protect against it. These same Superfoods are very nutritious and I'm sure are good for us in other ways, so the information here is something that can really help.
Wonderful easy to read book giving directions on staying healthy. Plainly stated, Dr. Clemments advises which are better food to build into you diet. A great book to introduce to teens, it almost is set up like a lesson. It is not scary, has simple and easy to understand illustrations and should make following rules to a healthier lifestyle attainable.
Dr. Terrel Clements has created an easily read guide to healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. He explains what heart diseases really are in terms that you do not need great medical knowledge to understand.
He goes through different common and mostly cheap and easily available 'super foods'. The term 'super foods' often puts me off because in an advert it can be the start of a sales push for expensive supplements whose main virtue is their rarity. Dr. Clements avoids these completely. Instead he tells us the virtues of many common foods like apples and Brussels sprouts.
This book is one I recommend for everyone.

Dr. Clements has written a simple, yet effective guide to maintaining a healthy heart. The book provides some great advice and covers topics that are not discussed enough namely the dangers of transfat, the benefits of flaxseed, and the healthier fats. Most people assume that all fats are bad but that’s not the case.
In addition to that, the book provides healthy food alternatives that you can substitute for the fast food too many Americans consume. The bottom line is that our heart health is directly impacted by the daily choices we make regarding the types of foods we consume and our level of physical activity.
The only thing I found not mentioned regarding fruits is the importance of choosing organically grown apples as an example. Conventional apples are one of the most pesticide laden fruits on the market. In fact, many people (myself included) are allergic to those pesticides. However, that doesn't take away from the quality of the content of this book.
If you make the choice to follow the recommendations made by Dr. Clements regarding healthier foods and exercises, you’ll not only build your heart muscle but also slash your risk of becoming another heart disease statistic.
